Imagineer Zach Riddley has shared new footage from the floor of EPCOT’s upcoming Connections Cafe and Eatery.

In two Instagram posts, Zach showed how some of the early plans for the Florida project served as inspiration for some intricate flooring designs in Connections Cafe.

Zach said, “Drawing inspiration from Walt’s Florida project master plan, Imagineers designed a floor inlay for Connections Eatery at EPCOT that would infuse the station’s original DNA into this new location within World Celebration. ne of my favorite details is the intersection of I-4 and US 192, represented by the orange lines that run across the map. The lines showing original ideas for EPCOT, Magic Kingdom and other recreational amenities reflect the diversity and the scale that have always been the guiding vision of Walt Disney World.

In this previous post from last week, we got a glimpse of another flooring design that uses EPCOT’s original blueprints for inspiration.

Speaking about the process of translating these blueprints into a finished floor, Zach said: “These designs are created with a durable biopolymer material that is 3D printed to provide an intricate pattern. This linework is then laid out by skilled artisans to create inlays in the poured flooring material, with the final design revealed through cycles of sanding and polishing, where classic and cutting-edge techniques meet.”
