There are benefits to being a Disney World Annual Passholder!
Annual Passholders can get discounts in Disney World, access to exclusive merchandise, and even occasional freebies! We’ve seen Disney hand out sparkly magnets for Mickey and Minnie Annual Passholders to Disney Springs before, and now they’re releasing a magnet featuring another popular character, and they’re available now!
The Orange Bird Annual Passholder Magnet is available starting today at Disney Springs. Pass holders will be able to get the magnet until August 5th, so you have a full month to collect it! Disney is distributing the magnet through a virtual queue, accessible either through the My Disney Experience app or by scanning the QR code on signs located throughout Disney Springs.
If you go through the app, you go to the home screen and then scroll down to the virtual queue section of the page. You’ll see it tells you to request access to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, but you’ll click “Join Virtual Queue” and select Disney Springs on the next screen.
Once you click “Join Virtual Queue”, you will have the choice to select EPCOT or Disney Springs. Once you have selected Disney Springs, you will be able to join the virtual queue for the magnet. As a reminder, you will need to be within 45 miles of Disney World to join the queue.
Once registered, you will receive a group number and an approximate return time. When we joined he said we would have a wait of about 130 minutes. We were group 30.
You will receive a notification when your boarding party is called. This notification will tell you how long you need to get in the queue, and it will also give you a QR code to scan once you get to the front of the queue. Once you receive this notification, you will return to Wonderful World of Memories to queue. During our visit, the queue was extended past the Days of Christmas store, so be prepared for long queues.
To enter Wonderful World of Memories and grab the magnet, you can choose to have the Cast Member scan the QR code in the app, or scan your MagicBand or produce your Annual Pass card to prove your Passholder status. Once inside, you will once again need to show your annual pass card as well as government ID. You will then receive your magnet, your information card and a scavenger hunt!
The magnet itself is blue, with Orange Bird in the center. There is white around Orange Bird, which can be removed if desired.
You will get information on how to “bring the magnet to life” through augmented reality. You can go to the website (www.passholdermagnets.com) or scan the QR code to access the animation.
You also have the option of picking up an Orange Bird Scavenger Hunt Map! This map will take you to 10 locations across Disney Springs where an orange bird is hiding. This card is free and completely optional.
If you’re looking for other exclusive deals for Disney Springs Annual Passholders, there’s tons of limited-time stuff available right now. You can get an Orange Bird Chocolate Ganache Square from The Ganachery or goods from the Marketplace Co-Op.
You’ll also have access to special accessories for Passholders at the Disney PhotoPass Studio, and more. As always, be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and information.
