We’ve slowly started to see more of Valentine at GENERAL HOSPITAL again now that his voice actor, James Patrick Stuart, has wrapped filming his upcoming Disney Channel series, VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW. And in just over a month, the actor GH fans can see him as the patriarch of a motley family of supervillains when the teen series debuts!
The excited actor gave his followers an update on his outside project by sharing the official trailer for the new TV show on social media. “So this is happening,” Stuart wrote on Twitter, including the preview. In an Instagram post, he added the cast photo to the video, writing, “THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW – series premieres Friday June 3rd on Disney Channel.” (And here’s a high-quality version of the preview shared by Stuart!)
In THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW, Stuart plays Vic Madden – aka Kraniac – the head of a family of supervillains hiding from the League of Villains by hiding out in a small town in Texas. The series centers on teenage daughter Amy, who gets help from her neighborhood friend, Hartley, as she and her family try to suppress their superpowers and blend in with the rest of the town.
Stuart announced nearly a year ago that he had landed a role in a Disney Channel comedy pilot. “We are filming 15 minutes from the GH scene,” he tweeted at the time. “So if the show were to be picked up for a series, and while that would create some planning headaches for some very cool people, I don’t plan on hanging up Valentine’s dancing shoes anytime soon. “
Not only was the show picked up, but it went from AMY FROM AMARILLO and MEET THE MAYHEMS before Disney decided on THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW. The pilot was picked up for a full series order in December, and Stuart spent the start of that year working on VILLAINS while Valentine was out of town recuperating from his injuries following his kidnapping. He resumed recording at GH in mid-March, and viewers slowly began to see Valentin resume with his friends and family in Port Charles!
Check out the trailer for THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW above, then tune in June 3 at 8 p.m. to watch the first two episodes back to back!
