New Mighty Ducks Disney trailer features Bombay’s return

The Quack Attack is back in the first trailer for Disney’s new “Mighty Ducks” series, but this time the Ducks are the bad guys.

WASHINGTON – Emilio Estevez is back as coach Gordon Bombay and he has a whole new group of misfit kids to inspire in the first trailer for Disney’s new “Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” series.

In a trailer released Thursday, we see the Minnesota-based Mighty Ducks have gone from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive and powerful youth hockey team.

The trailer shows how 12-year-old Evan, played by actor Brady Noon, is bluntly cut off from the Ducks.

“If you can’t be good at hockey, it’s like you don’t bother,” a coach from the New Ducks Powerhouse told Evan in the trailer.

But instead of hanging up her skates for good, Evan’s mother Alex, played by Lauren Graham, says they should start their own squad to challenge the Ducks and the culture of victory at all costs in sports for them. young people today.

“I want you to think of all the other kids who have been told they are too small or too slow, they just want to go out and play. Let’s start our own team,” says Alex.

She then notes that all they need now is a hockey rink for their starter team. This is where Gordon Bombay, once again played by Emilio Estevez, comes in, as he appears to be working on a dilapidated ice rink called the Ice Palace.

The rest of the trailer features new faces and features a handful of subtle Minnesota nods (including University of Minnesota sweatshirts and a Minnesota Wild hat in Evan’s bedroom).

The 10-episode series “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” will begin airing on Disney Plus on March 26.
