It’s the season to be happy!
That’s if you were trying to get park reservations for Walt Disney World this Christmas.
Disney has now released more passes for some of its theme parks in Florida during Christmas and New Years weeks.
Previously, the last few weeks of December were mostly reserved for those looking to secure park reservations.
Since the gradual reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, the crowds at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom have only grown with the parks operating at reduced capacity.
The introduction of the park reservation system limited these crowds, but also limited the guests in their last minute planning.
Now Walt Disney World’s Park reservation calendar opened, Disney adding more park passes over Christmas week.
For theme park ticket holders and resort hotel guests, Magic Kingdom remains full from December 20-31. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is fully booked December 20-23 and December 27-31. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is booked December 27-30, while EPCOT is available every day except December 31.
The new availability of the other three parks on certain days, however, leaves guests with the option of 2:00 PM Park Hop at the Magic Kingdom for the evening.
Additionally, most annual pass holders will be locked out during this time, while new purchases from annual pass holders will not be available.
Incredi-Pass holders, of course, can still make reservations. As of today, Magic Kingdom is full for pass holders on December 20, 24, 25 and 31, but is available every other day. EPCOT is not fully booked until December 31st. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is booked December 27-31. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is still available daily in December for pass holders.
It was recently revealed that from December 22 to 31, Magic Kingdom guests will be able to see Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade twice a day at no additional cost.
The parade is typically part of Disney’s Very Merriest After Hours – the replacement for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – which began on November 8 and runs through December 21.
The parade has been scaled down from its previous versions, but this is still a huge plus for guests visiting this week, as it will be the first parade to be shown at the Magic Kingdom during the day since before the close of the COVID-19.
The spectacular seasonal fireworks display, Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM !, will not be returning to Disney Studios in Hollywood, however. The holiday show last filled the night at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, with the perfect dose of screenings, fireworks and holiday music.
Fireworks can be found at Magic Kingdom with “Disney Enchantment” or EPCOT with “Harmonious”.
